Minutely Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 10, 2026 · Last updated: June 10, 2026

Minutely (the “app”, “we”) is a private AI voice recorder for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app processes, where it is stored, and under what conditions anything ever leaves your device.

The short version: we do not collect your data. Recordings, transcripts, summaries, and chat conversations are stored only on your iPhone. The developer operates no servers that receive your content, requires no accounts, and runs no analytics tied to your identity.

1. What data the app processes

The app works with the following data exclusively on your device:

All of this data is stored in the app’s protected container on your iPhone and is included in iCloud/iTunes backups only according to your own Apple backup settings. Deleting a recording in the app, or deleting the app itself, removes this data from the device.

2. What we do NOT do

3. AI model downloads

On first launch the app downloads AI model files (approximately 100–500 MB) from our model hosting. This is an ordinary file download: none of your content is transmitted — only the standard technical parameters of a network request (e.g., the IP address needed to deliver the file). We do not use these requests to identify or profile users.

4. Optional cloud services (off by default)

By default, all processing happens on the device. The app includes an optional cloud mode that:

If you enable cloud mode:

In these cases you act as a direct customer of the respective provider (it is your key and your agreement with them); we do not receive a copy of the transmitted data and have no access to it. You can turn cloud mode off at any time — the app returns to fully local processing.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details (card number, etc.) — those are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.

To manage subscription status the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives purchase information (product identifiers, subscription status and dates, App Store receipts) and a random, anonymous app installation identifier. This identifier is not linked to your identity: we do not know and never ask for your name, email, or Apple ID. The data is used solely to operate the subscription (activating Pro access, restoring purchases). RevenueCat’s policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

6. System permissions

7. Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children. The App Store age rating is 4+.

8. Security

Data is stored in the app’s sandboxed container protected by iOS mechanisms (Data Protection encryption). Because data does not leave the device (except for cloud features you explicitly enable), the primary layer of protection is the security of your iPhone: we recommend using a passcode and Face ID/Touch ID.

9. Your rights and control

Because we do not store your data, you perform all operations on it yourself in the app: viewing, editing, exporting, and deleting any recording is available directly. Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device (backups are governed by your Apple settings).

If you used cloud mode, data deletion requests to the providers (Deepgram, OpenRouter) are made by you directly, as their customer.

If the laws of your country (e.g., GDPR in the EU or CCPA in California) grant you additional rights regarding personal data, please note: since we do not collect or store your personal data, most such requests (access, rectification, deletion, portability) are fulfilled by you directly on your device. For any questions you can contact us at the address below.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the new version.
