Minutely Privacy Policy
Minutely (the “app”) is a private AI voice recorder for iPhone, owned and operated by Revstream LLC (“we”, the “developer”). This policy explains what data the app processes, where it is stored, and under what conditions anything ever leaves your device.
The short version: by default, your content never leaves your device. Recordings, transcripts, summaries, and chat conversations are stored only on your iPhone and processed by local AI models. The only exception is the optional cloud mode (section 4): it is off by default, enabled only by you, and processes data in transit without storing it on the server. There are no accounts and no analytics tied to your identity.
1. What data the app processes
The app works with the following data exclusively on your device:
- Audio recordings — microphone recordings and imported audio/video files.
- Transcripts — text recognized from audio by a speech-recognition model running locally on the device.
- Summaries and chat — digests, action items, and answers to your questions generated by a local language model.
- Imported documents (e.g., PDF) — text is extracted locally.
- Settings — selected models, language, remaining free minutes, etc. (local storage and the app’s database).
All of this data is stored in the app’s protected container on your iPhone and is included in iCloud/iTunes backups only according to your own Apple backup settings. Deleting a recording in the app, or deleting the app itself, removes this data from the device.
2. What we do NOT do
- We do not collect or store your audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, or chat messages (in cloud mode, if you enable it yourself, data is processed in transit only — see section 4).
- We do not require registration and do not create user accounts.
- We do not use advertising trackers and show no ads.
- We do not sell or share data with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not track you across apps or websites (App Tracking Transparency is not required — there is no tracking).
3. AI model downloads
On first launch the app downloads AI model files (approximately 100–500 MB) from our model hosting. This is an ordinary file download: none of your content is transmitted — only the standard technical parameters of a network request (e.g., the IP address needed to deliver the file). We do not use these requests to identify or profile users.
4. Optional cloud mode (off by default)
By default, all processing happens on the device. The Minutely Pro subscription includes an optional cloud mode — faster and more accurate processing on our server. It:
- is disabled by default;
- is enabled only by you, explicitly, in Settings, and can be turned off at any time — the app returns to fully local processing.
If you enable cloud mode, the following is sent to our server (api.minutely.ru) over an encrypted connection when you process a specific recording: the audio recording you selected (for transcription), the transcript text, and your chat questions (for summaries and answers).
The server processes this data in transit: audio, transcripts, and messages are not stored on the server after processing, are not used to train models, and are not accessible to anyone outside the automated processing pipeline. The server keeps only usage counters (e.g., transcription minutes per month) tied to a random anonymous device identifier (section 5) — with no content attached.
To perform the processing we engage sub-providers, to whom data is passed on our behalf and only to the extent needed for your request:
- Deepgram (speech recognition): deepgram.com/privacy
- OpenRouter (language models): openrouter.ai/privacy
Public summary links. Separately from cloud mode: if you explicitly tap “Share → Link to a page”, the selected content (title, summary, action items and, if present, the transcript) is stored on our server and becomes accessible to anyone who has the link. This is the only case where content is stored on the server, and it happens only on your explicit action. The link is deleted automatically after 90 days; to remove it earlier, email support@minutely.ru with the link.
5. Purchases, subscriptions, and the device identifier
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details (card number, etc.) — those are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
To activate Pro access and operate cloud mode, the app registers a random anonymous device identifier on our server and submits the Apple-signed purchase confirmation (product identifier, subscription status and expiry — without your name, email, or Apple ID). The server stores only the subscription status and usage counters tied to that identifier. The identifier is generated randomly by the app and is not linked to your identity; we do not know and never ask who you are.
Web version (app.minutely.ru)
The web version uses an account: sign in with Google or Apple (Firebase Authentication, policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy). We store the account identifier and email — solely for sign-in and for keeping your data attached to you.
Unlike the iOS app, content created in the web version (audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, chat) is stored on our server — the web version cannot work otherwise. It remains yours: any recording can be deleted with one tap, and the “Delete account” button immediately and irreversibly erases all recordings, files, and the profile. Purchase records are retained in anonymized form (accounting requirements).
You can link the iOS app to your account — the Pro subscription then becomes shared. Linking does not move device content to the server: iPhone recordings stay on the iPhone.
Payments in the web version are processed by the YooKassa payment service: payment details (card number, etc.) are handled by YooKassa; we never receive or store them. The seller for web-version purchases and the operator of the web version for the Russian market is Individual Entrepreneur Pavel Alekseevich Onuchin (INN 550721735960, OGRNIP 318554300025738) — payment and refund terms are set out in the public offer (in Russian).
6. System permissions
- Microphone — required to record audio. Requested when you start your first recording; without it recording is unavailable while other features (file import) keep working.
- File access during import is granted through the system file picker and is limited to the files you select.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children. The App Store age rating is 4+.
8. Security
Data is stored in the app’s sandboxed container protected by iOS mechanisms (Data Protection encryption). Because data does not leave the device (except for cloud features you explicitly enable), the primary layer of protection is the security of your iPhone: we recommend using a passcode and Face ID/Touch ID.
9. Your rights and control
Because we do not store your content, you perform all operations on it yourself in the app: viewing, editing, exporting, and deleting any recording is available directly. Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device (backups are governed by your Apple settings).
Cloud mode does not store your content on the server, so there is nothing to delete there. If you want us to delete the server record of your subscription status and usage counters tied to the anonymous device identifier, contact us at the address below.
If the laws of your country (e.g., GDPR in the EU or CCPA in California) grant you additional rights regarding personal data, please note: since we do not collect or store your personal data, most such requests (access, rectification, deletion, portability) are fulfilled by you directly on your device. For any questions you can contact us at the address below.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the new version.
